A boost to the Swiss electricity supply
Our daily lives are dependent on electricity, with the need for more energy rapidly rising. At the same time, we know we must be more efficient in our use of energy and lower consumption. Industry urgently needs new and qualified engineers in order to be able to meet this challenge.
ETH Zurich is therefore intensifying its electrical energy technology activities and strengthening its leading position in the area of electrical energy research. This represents both a response to the demand from industry, and to the pressing need for research in key areas concerning our future electricity supply.
Aims:
– 3 new professorships to give ETH Zurich a leading position in driving innovation in the field of electrical energy
– a project fund for the field of energy
Support achieves:
– more new engineers and a boost to Switzerland's electricity sector
– accelerated development of renewable energies
– access to a unique pool of innovation and experts for partners
